Playing a game of Kill Team is actually really good fun and almost a perfect introduction to the Warhammer 40K game mechanics. So, once you have built the miniatures and managed to acquire a basic grasp of the Warhammer 40K rules you are ready to play your first game. It is a game though that all of the EH Gaming team love and well worth the investment in time, in our opinion. What I am basically saying is that this is not a game where you open the box on a Saturday morning and start playing instantly if you are new to Warhammer 40,000. Yeah, I know, that means at least 3 or 4 hours of reading and re-reading for homework before you start to play.

Updated March 8th, 2021 by Paul DiSalvo: As a Magic: The Gathering and Warhammer crossover was recently announced, there are likely many new players interested in seeing what Warhammer 40,000 is all about. Luckily, there is a variant of Warhammer for those looking to dip their toes into the game, or those looking to play on a budget: Kill-Team. Kill-Team is a much smaller scope version of the game in which players control small teams of specialists rather than entire armies, and it features gameplay more reminiscent of Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics due to the manner in which individual units are controlled. While Kill-Team is definitely the easiest version of Warhammer to get into, it can still be difficult for new players to figure out how to construct playable teams in the most efficient manner.Warhammer 40,000 has been around for 30 years!
